Einleitung Die Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management-Lösung (EPM-Lösung) basiert auf Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007 und Microsoft Office Project Server 2007. Diese Lösung ermöglicht Unternehmen die bessere Verwaltung von Projekten und Ressourcen, die unternehmensweite Zusammenarbeit sowie die effektive Erstellung von Analysen und Berichten zu Projekten und Programmen. Webbasierte Tools für das Portfoliomanagement unterstützen Führungskräfte dabei, Personal und Projekte auf die Geschäftsziele auszurichten, Probleme schnell zu erkennen und entsprechende Korrekturmassnahmen zu ergreifen. Teammitglieder können über E-Mail und mit webbasierten Tools mühelos Projektinformationen aktualisieren, zusammenarbeiten und stets auf dem neuesten Stand bleiben. Eine erweiterbare Architektur ermöglicht Unternehmen die optimale Abstimmung der Office EPM-Lösung auf vorhandene Branchensysteme. Die dreistufige Architektur der Office EPM-Lösung besteht aus einem Front-End (Microsoft Office Project Web Access und Microsoft Internet Explorer-Thin Client oder Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 und Microsoft Win32-Client), einer mittleren Ebene (Office Project Server 2007) und einer Datenbank (Microsoft SQL Server 2005). Optionale Komponenten sind Office Project Portfolio Server 2007 und Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Web Access 2007.
